Aristotle’s Park Is a Must-Visit Attraction in Halkidiki

Visiting the Aristotle’s Park is a must not only because it’s the only thematic park in Halkidiki but mainly because it is created in honor of the great Greek philosopher. And let’s be honest here.

If you have decided to spend your summer vacation in Ouranoupolis, you are surely a bit curious about the country where democracy and most world-recognized philosophers were born (apart from craving for the blue waters). Located at a 500-meter altitude in Aristotle’s birthplace of Stagira, the park will educate and amaze you.

The Aristotle’s Park is 44 km away from Ouranoupolis

Only a 30-minute drive away from your hotel in Ouranoupolis, the grove dedicated to the ancient Greek philosopher portrays the Aristotelian legacy.

For those of you who know little about Aristotle, he was influenced by his teacher Plato and later by the natural sciences which drove him to believe in the importance of empirical research.

Enjoy interactive games with the Aristotelian experimental instruments

In the park, you can see the instruments (optical disks, telescope, sun clock, pentaphone, prism, compass, sounding bars, lens, water turbine, & pendulum) mentioned in Aristotle’s textbook “The Naturals” which explain the natural phenomena.

Although the grove pre-existed, the instruments were added in 2003. The statue of Aristotle stands there side by side with the instruments which illustrate the way the philosopher studied the phenomena in nature and gives you the opportunity to pay tribute to the Aristotelian thought that has shaped all forms of knowledge thereafter.

Not only will you and your children enjoy the interactive games but a splendid view of the gulf of the Ierissos village. No wonder that the park of Aristotle has become one of the most visited tourist destinations every summer and the one you will be happy to go too.
